SOS is part of my Pandemic Birds series. It was inspired by the feeling of panic, heartbreak, and depression that the COVID pandemic has caused across the world. There is a Morse Code message embedded in the stitching. I wrote a blog post about this series which you can read here.

I used a raw-edge collage technique with machine and hand embroidery. The entire piece was quilted by hand using a Kantha quilting style with French knots. The silk bird is hand block printed.

I create all my work in my studio overlooking the Puget Sound on Whidbey Island. All designs are original and are copyrighted by me. My studio is smoke-free and pet-free.
