Counting the Days

$180.00

Counting the Days is part of my Pandemic Birds series. This is how it felt as I wondered how soon there would be a vaccine, when would I be able to visit my kids and my parents. I wrote a blog post about this series which you can read here.

I used a raw-edge collage technique with machine and hand embroidery. The entire piece was quilted by hand using a Kantha quilting style. The piece is embroidered and quilted with variegated Perle cotton thread.

I create all my work in my studio overlooking the Puget Sound on Whidbey Island. All designs are original and are copyrighted by me. My studio is smoke-free and pet-free.

Materials used: linens — up cycled designer linens, Valdani perle cotton thread
Hanging device: wood slat attached to the upper back lining
Year created: 2021

Dimensions
11.5x14.5”

Care: Avoid hanging in direct sunlight. To remove dust, brush lightly with a lint roller.
