Gray's Twig
Gray’s Twig is part of the Quarantine Zoo project series. In March 2020 when the world thought that the COVID 19 pandemic would be short-lived, I started an online art project called the Quarantine Zoo. I focused on highlighting endangered or extinct species. For more about the project see this blogpost.
The image is hand-embroidered with Valdani cotton perle thread. The border is raw-edge appliqué and machine quilted.
I create all my work in my studio overlooking the Puget Sound on Whidbey Island. All designs are original and are copyrighted by me. My studio is smoke-free and pet-free.
Materials used: linen and cotton, cotton thread
Hanging device: wood slat attached to the upper back lining
Year created: 2020
Dimensions
13x10”
Care: Avoid hanging in direct sunlight. To remove dust, brush lightly with a lint roller.
