Red Lorie
Red Lorie is part of the Quarantine Zoo project series. In March 2020 when the world thought that the COVID 19 pandemic would be short-lived, I started an online art project called the Quarantine Zoo. I focused on highlighting endangered or extinct species. For more about the project see this blogpost.
I used a raw-edge collage technique and the entire piece was quilted using free-motion machine quilting.
I create all my work in my studio overlooking the Puget Sound on Whidbey Island. All designs are original and are copyrighted by me. My studio is smoke-free and pet-free.
Materials used: cottons — some hand-dyed, cotton thread
Hanging device: 2 D-rings attached to the top of the quilt back
Year created: 2020
Dimensions
8.5x12.5”
Care: Avoid hanging in direct sunlight. To remove dust, brush lightly with a lint roller.
